New player.
Starting in place of a key Mustang starter.
Profiled first on PonyFans.com.
Go figure.

Great work. Again.
Thanks for the story.

GO PONIES!

Emailed his old high school (now in Belton)...he was very pleased to hear Justin is starting, even if because of injury. If he is able to "motor" his way through his first game even a little, I think Muse will find him a suitable backup. They evidently like each other, as Muse has been informally coaching him through the spot.

Hey OC: have you ordered your No. 40 SMART jersey yet?

Very funny. No. But I might buy them for my kids. My oldest got to see him play in high school, and he was always his favorite high school player.

If the guy stays healthy and is able to adjust as well as I think he will, I think all will see that playing Smart is playing smart.

Everyone can groan now.

I smell a joke coming on...

Texas Tech's Jake Johnson needs to "get Smart".

Especially appropriate for Tech students, don't you agree?

We heard them all when he played high school.

Smart Play
Smart Tackle
Smart Move
Smart Interception
Smart Touchdown!

They don't know how to block Smart.

Which one is Smart?

<groan>

as long as we don't hear "OUCH! that Smarts!" on Monday when his 6-7, 350 pound opponent hits him we'll be OK.

Actually, if that 6-7 dude is the one saying it, then we will definitely have something special. Otherwise, I agree.

The Smart way is to NOT ALLOW THAT FAT-B4ST4RD to get his grubby paws on him. We'll see just how agile those big boys are.

6-7 350 lbs. Dear God is that the size of their tackle??

Sometimes Smart just isn't enough.

Listed at 369, and supposedly played in JUCO at more than 400 pounds.

Hopefully he is big, dumb and slow.

hell it might take about 10 seconds to run around the kid. Then when you try to run around him they slant it off inside the tackle for a big gain.

Reminds me of Billy Bob on Varsity Blues...

...dude probably owns a friggin' pig as a pet.

I'm sorry, that is entirely too big of a person...kid will die of heart failure before he's 40.

I keep thinking:
1) How do you possibly feed a kid that size?
2) How does someone that size play football in the heat? Not saying he isn't in good condition, just wondering.
