Dude just needed a ride. I'm all for getting rid of the cheaters, but getting suspended for that is just plain idiotic.

Surely someone on the team could have stolen him a car.

Cmon SMOO, you can't be serious. That's how the cheating starts.

"Uh yeah, my FRIEND loaned me the Beamer for the summer. Yeah, that's the ticket!"

If we're going to follow your logic, let me clear up this whole "DP" issue...

Dickerson's car was a loaner, too!

I know, I know, I'm being pretty soft on the issue, and yes Col., this is how cheating begins. Just with all the gun waving, drug dealing, brawl starting hoodlums on teams these days, car borrowing/lending/whatever seems pretty darn tame.

I thought Dickerson's Trans-Am was purchased by a booster from aTm?

Dear Kettle,

Thank you for your concern. We have not see any black pot since Mustang Mania was alive and well. You may want to check with the Austin PD on its current whereabouts. If you need a ride, pretty sure they now have a paddywagon dedicated to picking up troubled ut pigskinners.

Sincerely yours,
2007 AD

Wrong.

UT tells us the "friend" who "loaned" him the car had no ties to UT - but then they won't say who the "friend" was. We're to take their word on it.

And the media will, folks.

Plus, Pittman is being "suspended" for one game he wasn't going to play in anyway due to injury, making it a two-game suspension.

Well if it was a "friend" who wasn't associated with UT, then why the suspension?

Perhaps it was an agent. They mentioned he was jeopardizing his amateur status.

"AUSTIN (AP) Friday August 31, 2007 --
The Texas Longhorns suspended wide receiver Billy Pittman for three games Friday after learning he broke NCAA amateurism rules by borrowing a friend's car this summer.

FREE "LOANER CARS" THIS SUMMER?
AND NOT TELLING WHO LOANED IT TO YOU.
HEY WHATS WRONG WITH THAT?

:P
