It is time for a wholesale change. We've given these clowns that pass as football coaches far too much time. This was worse than last year. The coaches outdid themselves this time!

Rusty Burns is a helluva a lot better than the coordinators we've had here before. They made real strides last year. Let's hold off on blaming the offensive coordinator for all our problems.
2-2 in NC games

The forecast has always been 2-2 in NC games. You can jump on ALL the coaches if SMU loses on the road at Arkansas State. UNT should be a gimme and TCU is a lost cause in Ft. Worth. The only sure wins I foresee in the CUSA West are Rice and Tulane. PB may be lucky to go 6-6 again this year. If he goes, it won't matter whether the OC was an improvement.

This offense should get in gear and move with the right competition. We were very overmatched today. Hopefully next week can be a confidence builder. If it turns out like last year, then we can start the "who will be the coach" thread.

Foolish remark-- today, the OC was calling in audbiles with 9 seconds left on the play clock-- his playing calling kept us out of the endzone (& bowl game) last year at Rice & nothing changed today.
FG's instead of TD's

The Red Zone melt down is enough to make us change one of our school colors. FG's instead of TD's all over again.

The 2007 understatement of the year-- Knucklestangs could have a feel day with such a song & it would go Platinum...

At least he is hiding in the press box and the demoted OC is signaling the dummy plays.

I think the play calling was [deleted] poor! Bennet has stated numerous times that he wants Willis to manage the game and get the team into manageble 3rd down situations.
Well, twice in the first half they had 3rd and less than five, and both times they called lame runnining plays, one Martin was buried for a loss and the second one was the misdirection where Willis was running for his life and again another big loss. Willis' best pass is the short routes, utilize his strengths!
Then in the second half, another 3rd and less than 5, and they decide to throw deep???
In the 4th quarter they FINALLY figured it out when they converted the 3rd down with a short pass to I believe was Sanders.
The play calling reminded me of 3rd and 1 last year all over again.

You can make a few arguments:
First, Rusty is an idiot;
Second, Rusty may or may not be an idiot, but Phil is an idiot and meddles with Rusty's playcalling and offensive gameplanning when he doesn't really understand the offense;
Third, some of the audible issues were communication problems with Rusty being in the booth instead of the sideline; there was a breakdown in communication between the booth and the sideline coaches as it was the first game under such an arrangement.
Fourth , the team played conservative after the third touchdown and it was 21-6, because it knew it wasn't going to come back and didn't want to give anything away for the next game.

No. One-Yes
No. Two-No, but also true.
No. Three-Yes, but every other program in football can do it, why can't we? go back to No. One!
No. Four-No, there is nothing left in the cupboard and they are not that smart, see Nos. One and Two

This is one of those moments where Rusty Burns needs to prove he is the genius that everyone claims he is. Some OC's run the same offense regardless of personnel. Others adapt the offense to the personnel on the field. Hopefully Rusty got some good ideas for the UNT game. We know the UNT will be using an offense very similar to TT. We also know that OU ran it down their throats. Let' see what Rusty comes up with to hopefully put lots of points on the board for the UNT game.

Just who is "everyone"? Didn't we pick him up from the trash pile (fired and unemployed)? Maybe you should substitute the word "he" for "everyone".
