Re: New BENow that would be an interesting Big East Alliance group...if they only added Louisville, S.Fla and C.Fla. Assuming Marquette and DePaul were also picked for the bball division, it would leave CUSA with 9 football members and 10 bball members. Then, if Tulane dropped football, they're down to 8 & 10. Does that put CUSA in search mode...for 4 full members?
Take this a step further if Cincy gets the BE invite as well. Then you have a battle for survival between the WAC and CUSA. Would CUSA invite Marshall and the WAC east group (except UTEP) to get to 12 fball/14 bball? Does the WAC invite TCU & Houston to grow to 12? Does the MWC invite 4 WAC west schools and destroy the WAC's plans? And where does Temple fit in? BE? CUSA? Drop I-A football and play at I-AA in the A-10, where they already compete in other sports? The possibilities are endless, but with ACC site visits now completed, we should know very soon whether all of this was just a tease or whether the dominoes are really going to start falling.
