Wilton McCraythink they tried to use his quickness to rush the passer more tonite and I think he got a couple of sacks. I remember they brought off the blindside on a nice sack. He's more like a strong safety anyway. I saw a little bit in Smart tonite. This should be a redshirt year for him because he's not physically ready-but he does have some quickness. Once he bulks up it might be interesting.
Re: Wilton McCray1. Smart should be red shirting but what are you going to do when you are this thin at D-line, but i do think he will be one hell of a player in a year or two... (just like justin rogers... who i talked to briefly tonight, and he looks amazing) 2.McCray played a lot better tonight then monday... but we also did a much better job disguising our blitzes and mixing up the blitzes PB knows how Dodge coaches and would let Dodge do his pre snap read and then call the play in from the sideline... the linebackers would show something and then on the snap do something different. still a lot of work needs to be done, but i saw some improvements on defense WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
I think the d-line will show a lot of improvement in the next few games. A lot of players rotated through tonight. The was a lot of RAW talent.
Not so sure about the secondary though. They need to improve fast. McCann is great though. Although they did have to play against what will likely be the #1 passing offense after this week. ![]() Not sure we will beat Ark St. and if we do not we will have to go 5-3 or 6-2 in conference. Can we do that? Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
willis actually played with some composure... when he was flushed he ran, when there was nowhere to run he through it away... he had a pick but it was on a deflection... he has played good, not great. i like what he has showed so far. he is better then last year, even if the numbers arent that great... he is making "better" decisions and he's not fumbling... yet WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
as Phil Bennett said on post game-he can play a lot better. I think he was not very accurate even on some easy completions-which resulted in smaller gains. The point of delivery is essential in this offense-and we aren't getting what say Tech gets from Graham on where the ball is delivered to a receiver.
he had some good throws... still a lot of work needs to be done... but then again he is only a sophomore

Willis could play better if the play calling inluded V'Chase-- he's being ignored just like Kennedy was the past few years under this OC's play calling. Just like TT, UNT tight end ran those seam routes & made a couple of big plays. Why can't Burns coach to our strengths? # 86 is a talent- throw him the damn ball; # 08 off tackle, not wide; # 16 use his foot speed, run an occasional roll-out. Asleep at the wheel on play calling...
