SMU's Bennett earns a reprieve ... for now

UNIVERSITY PARK – Phil Bennett has saved his job.

For now.

SMU won a fun-filled, back-and-forth, exhilarating football game Saturday night that produced the kind of point total usually reserved for video games. The only problem is that SMU needed all of the energy and big plays it could muster to beat a team that lost by 69 points last week.

That should trouble Bennett.
