Defense

Is there any question in ANYONE's mind anymore that PB doesn't know how to coach defense?

Let's be clear: this is his 6th season, everyone here is his recruit, he was supposedly a defensive guru - and we have 3-star players on the corners - his recruits....and we are WORSE than we've EVER been since DP

It's not the players, it's the scheme.

This is simply ridiculous:

North Texas quarterback Daniel Meager set school records for passing yards, completions and attempts
- 46-of-64 passing
- 601 yards and three touchdowns and three interceptions.

Casey Fitzgerald also set a UNT single-game record for receiving yards with 327 yards on 18 catches with two touchdowns

IF what you are doing isn't working, then quit doing it. I'd just assume see them blitz a corner and leave a WR open - because what's the difference?

SEND ONE GUY IN, ON ROTATION, ON EVERY PLAY - jeez - we're getting beat ANYWAY.
Chances are that every once in a while the opposing QB would simply NOT SEE the wide open WR and it would fall incomplete.

"The Mustangs surrendered an overwhelming 601 passing yards in the contest, but the defense was able to hold UNT to just 12 yards on 26 carries, which averages out to just 0.6 ypc."

No way defending half a million passing yards by a high school team, but at least we didn't forget how to stop the run. I guess.

Then I think we can pull a DT or two and insert another DB - but wait, they'd just play zone and get beat on the slip screen anyway
