I Thought We WON Last Night??!?

...didn't we win last night, something like...45-31? Man, by the looks of this board, you would have thought Texas Tech made a U-Turn in Brownwood and came back and smacked us updise the head, again...I'm confused..

We come off a devasting loss with a nice W over a quasi new state rival..and ALL I read today is that..the ticket process sucks, the crowd was light, Bennett is an idiot, no D, no fire, 'Vard rules and restrictions are terrible, why not more carries for so and so, why not more passes to what's his name, negative this, pissed off that.....

We have got to be the poorest example of fans I have EVER seen. I know, I have done my share of [deleted] over the years, but for crying out loud, give it a freakin' rest

NICE WIN boys!!! Let's keep improving and knock the snot out of Arkie State next weekend...I WILL be there..cheering, not [deleted] and complaining!!

Long Live Cory Muse.

After giving up 601 passing yards, it doesn't really feel like a win. But this feeling is a lot better than the one I had last year after the UNT game.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad we got the W. I'm just worried about the rest of the season. We have some tough conference games (UTEP, USM) and what I've seen so far gives me reason for concern. With a full week to prepare, let's hope the guys are ready for ASU.

I've had my Kool Aid and am in for the duration. Pony Up!

Just think what we would all be saying if we gave up 600 yards and lost.

I am happy we got the win, but boy am I tired of 99 yard drives and long 3rd down conversions by our opposition.

Ford,

You clearly don't get it! If your expectations have been met this year, then you set the bar TOO low. We are supposed to be improving and we have not.

If we had one by 14 and did not help UNT set every single offensive record they have, then things would be different.

I don't get what? That many of you "grand posters" are spoiled? I get that....set records on SMU?? STATS ARE FOR LOSERS, DBB! I get that..did NTSU and ALL their records equal a W? Man, give these guys a break...am I running around all giddy today? Not really..we won, though..1-1, not 0-2...beat Arkie State, who knows what will happen v. TCU...

BUT, we woud rather sit here, post W, and [deleted] about ice cubes and parking lot attendants...so, who doesn't "get it?"

I expect to have a winning season...I expect to go to a bowl game..and I expect many of the PonyFans.com crowd to continue to [deleted] and moan about EVERTYTHING. I'm tired of it, no more from me......

NICE WIN BOYS!! BEAT ASU....and I hope and pray ASU doesn't have $5 RC's...!!!

Stats are for losers, but they are a great indicator of things to come...

601 yards to a marginal Div-1a QB, nice. That either indicates a total lack of talent at SMU, or a total lack of coaching ability in this coaching staff.

I do! They put up 1,600 yards of offense and we lose.

600 yards and NTSU gets beat by 14..we should then be thankful that Todd Dodge is not our coach...SMU gives up 600 yards and wins, guess Coach B deserves some credit for somehow pulling out the W?

600 yards indicates what is to come? Really...?

You a golfer? How many times have you started out par, par, par and shot 90? or, started out with a couple of bogeys and a double, and broke 80?

Stats are for losers. Case in point, yesterday...BEAT ASU.

More like SMU won in spite of his ineptitude. If you can really look at the rest of the season and see a for sure victory you're delusional. As it stands now, next week's game is very much in question.

We have talent to be competitive in CUSA, but even as your messiah Bennett has admitted he doesn't put them in position to win games.

We are dead last against the pass, in the entire NCAA

Do you honestly think that all of a sudden we are going to have a miracle turnaround and be GOOD on defense?

Did you attend the Derek Zoolander Center for People Who Can't Think Good?

Yeah, you must have.

We are going to get torched by UTEP, Tulsa, USMiss, TCU, and perhaps Houston, UCF and Tulane.

That could be 8 losses if this keeps up. And that's IF we beat ArkState...who only allowed 21 pts against THE GREAT STATE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.

Um...it's the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good, and Want to Learn to do Other Stuff Good too. I happen to be a 2003 graduate.

I completely agree with the original post. I am happy about the win. I sat in the stands last night at the game listening to the majority of smu "fans" around me spout off negativity from the first play and continuing throughout the game. I have never seen such a lack of support for a team and the team includes the coaches. It is embarassing that the school spirit coming from the UNT sidelines was 10 times what I heard from SMU -- and that was from the first snap after they had suffered a bigger loss than SMU the prior week. What does that say about SMU fans? My father and grandfather played football for SMU and my father is still a big supporter. He was with SMU during the glory days, and he still feels the same kind of loyalty and school spirit for the school as he did back then -- despite the major obstacles and frustration. It is disheartening to see such "fairweather" fans when I was raised in an environment where that was not acceptable. I can't imagine what it must be like to be a player on this team when fans are screaming negative comments at the field as soon as the game starts and when they turn it around -- still not much support. I think it would serve the team better if everyone could attempt to muster up some positive support for the team -- get on your feet - yell - it is a football game. At the end of the day, I think a team is often affected by the emotion of the crowd. I am not saying that is the reason for the mistakes that were made -- but I am sure the lack of school spirit does not help. One win down. Go ponies!!
