Talked to Orsini on the BLVD

Steve Orsini was walking down the boulevard and stopped by the tent to say hello while making his rounds. We talked a little about our new marketing efforts, the disappointment of the Tech game, and the optimism we had for our game that evening vs NTSU. A couple comments I found noteworthy from Steve-O.

When someone mentioned he thinks we will score 60 vs UNT, Orsini's response was: "I don't care how many we score at this point, just as long as we score one more point than they do."

Now for the one that shocked me a bit in regards to how candid he was. When someone mentioned the disappointment in game 1 vs Tech Orsini says "After that game, its pretty obvious that we need to improve our recruiting."

The Sheriff has spoken

Question. Everyone always claims how difficult our standards are and how they need to be loosened etc. Does anyone know what our standards actually are? How much more difficult is it to get a recruit into SMU than it is to say Rice, Baylor, TCU etc? I for one have no clue but am curious to see just how hampered (or relatively unaffected) our staff is by these restrictions.

Yes, things do need to change with our recruiting and it might not be just the standards.....
