from Kate H.'s blog at the DMN:

After giving up 601-yards passing against Todd Dodge's UNT, SMU now ranks last out of the 119 teams in Division I.

The Mustangs gave up 1,074-yards passing last week, including Monday's loss to Texas Tech.

Ouch.

UNT’s 601-yards passing were the most ever against SMU, topping the mark of 517 set by Andre Ware in 1989. …Casey Fitzgerald’s 18 catches and 327 yards receiving also set SMU opponent records.

I am concerned about our defense's ability to control anybody this season.

Look on the bright side. Now that Ken Hatfield is no longer at Rice, we will not have the opportunity to turn one of his second string TEs into a Heisman candidate.

Now that we are dead last in the country, we can look forward to hearing, "our defense improved!"

Hey we have played two majorly pass happy teams so far. That won't continue and we will have a shot to only be 115th or so by the end of the season!

Didn't need to read the stats to figure that one out.

We are probably #1 in Run D too...
Tops in run...last in pass. Duh. Tech & Dodgeball...go figure.

And we are 1-1, an improvement over last year.
What is our turnover ratio? Telling stat.
