Our pass defense must improve if we expect to win enough games to go bowling. The simple fact that UNT's QB almost doubled Willis' career game should cause alarm in everyone. Yes, we did win. Let's be happy about that, but like most of you I was too thinking in the 4th qtr how did we blow this one.

TTech

NET YARDS PASSING............. 473
Completions-Attempts-Int.... 50-66-0
Average Per Attempt......... 7.2
Average Per Completion...... 9.5
Passing Touchdowns.......... 4

UNT

NET YARDS PASSING............. 601
Completions-Attempts-Int.... 46-64-3
Average Per Attempt......... 9.4
Average Per Completion...... 13.1
Passing Touchdowns.......... 3

ps. I'm don't like to bad mouth any players. God know I can't do what they can.(Anymore) But the right side of our defense seemed to look pretty enticing to UNT's OC. Maybe we need a change here.

You lose 4 all conference starters and you expect the defense to be as good as last year's in the first two games of the year and one of those weeks was a short week. We played two very pass happy teams. If you didn't think the first part of the schedule was going to involve shootouts, you clearly haven't been reading the papers or this site. For the Tech game and the UNT game most of our gamblers were picking the "over". I suspect that Bennett realizes that there are some problem areas on the defense which I am sure, he is tinkering with this week. I am also certain that ASU will try short passes against us all day long until we stop them repeatedly. So, unless we can start jamming the line or getting a few batted passes, we're in for some high scoring games. Hopefully, the offense will step-up this year.
