SMU v. Missouri Confirmed for 2009, 2010

From a Missouri website:

The 2009 schedule has been completed with nonconference games against Illinois in St. Louis, home games against Bowling Green (MAC) and Southern Methodist (C-USA) and a road trip to Nevada. The 2010 slate has just two nonconference games finalized: Illinois and a trip to Dallas to face SMU, where Missouri has a strong alumni base.

And you better believe, I'll not only be at the SMU/Missouri games but also the Missouri/Illinois games.

Excellent. More BCS (and Big12) teams on the schedule, please.

we dont have a chance in mizzou, another road bashing by a big 12 team...if i sound pessimistic im sorry. nothing on this green earth would make me think we have a shot at beating such a team by our performance these past couple years

So do they.

Good. You can only improve if your competition improves. It's not like we'll be playing UT or USC. Bring 'em on! Willis will be a senior and ready to tear up the schedule.

Well at least one of my teams will win both years since I graduated from both. Mizzou's teams under Pinkel have been good, but not great. We probably have more of a chance against them then against Tech, but it would be nice to get more size at the defensive line position before we play them. That means recruiting actual defensive lineman, not converting linebackers to lineman and then telling them to put on 100 lbs!

Maybe Bob's Steak & Chop House, in addition to its already generous contributions to the program, could throw in a steak or two every week to help bulk up our linemen. Pony Up. Bulk Up.

Didn't we tie them under Ramon Flanigan, and should have won another?

I'm a little surprised they scheduled Bowling Green again. They handed the Tigers a big fat loss a few years back. In 2009 or 2010, don't we have a game with the Aggies in College Station? If we do, that will be a tough schedule.

Plus, Chase Daniels either graduates in 08 or in 09 so we'll get to see their new quarterback either in the first year SMU plays them or the second.

In 2009 and 2010, SMU plays Texas Tech and TCU. (09 SMU plays Navy as well). The Aggie series start back up in 2011. As well as the Baylor series.

Didn't we come within a hair of beating Missouri in the Cotton Bowl last time we played them here?

We'll be good enough to beat Mizzou in two years.

I had actually heard a rumor of home-and-home w/ Navy in 08 and 09. Can anybody confirm this?

So in 2009, we have Navy, Tech, TCU and Mizzou. Yikes. Good thing PB has us conditioned to be ready for slow starts.

Think Steve O is taking these kinds of things into account?

Navy: Option...save for the last time we played Rice at home, we've never done well against it in the PB regime
Tech: see last Monday
Mizzou: don't they run the spread too?
TCU: Well, it's TCU. And if Stallion's leading indicators hold true, by 09 and 10, they will have outrecruited us another four or 5 years, so itll be what 22 out of 23 years.
