I guess they figured with Duke and UNC against expansion that the lawsuit might nudge a waivering team (aka UVA) to vote against it. It will be interesting if the ACC reverses course, what will happen to FSU, Clemson, and Ga. Tech. Will they start packing their bags will UVa. and Maryland threaten to join them? Lots of intrigue in this one.

This is stupid. No school is under contract that they will stay in a conference indefinitely. There are buy out clauses for a reason. The hypocritical thing is that schools that are left out are always the ones to talk about loyalty to conference mates, but that is JUST because they were left out. If they had been included, it would be the best thing since sliced bread!

This quote says it all...
"Conference expansion and institutional realignment is not a new concept and is not a creation of the ACC," said Swofford. "The last decade has seen unprecedented movement between conferences with some of the most notable examples being the creation the Big 12 Conference, Conference USA and Mountain West Conference and the expansion of the Southeastern Conference, in addition to the Big East's four expansions since 1990. This trend is likely to continue whether or not Miami, Boston College, and Syracuse join the Atlantic Coast Conference."
It would be funny if the old A10 schools sued West Virginia, Va Tech and Rutgers.
