Arkansas State fans can you tell me if Sprint and Cingular
get good reception in Jonesboro?

Cingular now AT&T is pretty good around Jonesboro. There are some stretches on US 49 south of town (assuming you are driving up) that are spotty.

In the stadium reception is so-so at least on the west side below ground level.

Thanks Arkstfan.

Yes we are flying into Little Rock Sat around noon and driving up from there.

Any restaurants/bars/sites we should consider while in Jonesboro?

Any game parking suggestions?

See ya at the game.

If you are arriving at noon and looking for lunch my first suggestion is actually in North Little Rock. Leaving Adams Field head to downtown Little Rock, take I-30 East into North Little Rock, merge on to I-40 East, quickly as possible get into one of the two far left lanes and take US67 (LRAFB Exit) take the second exit off 67 (you'll see Gander Mtn and TSC on your right) and immediately go under the ramp and get to the right quickly after you come out the other side and stop at Whole Hog Cafe in the little strip mall or you can go down to the Wildwood/Trammel exit and do the same thing without the quick lane changes. When you leave you just go right on the access road, get left and take the turnaround bridge to get back on 67 north.

Great BBQ. Even make good brisket for Texas heathens but the pork ribs and pulled pork are the star of the show. Beans are middling. You can get a beer with your food. Or you can take the downtown Little Rock exit around the Clinton library and go into the River Market district but it'll be crowded and busy that time of day. Flying Fish has good catfish and fried oysters but there are variety of choices.

Your cheapest gas will be just after you leave Jacksonville. Take the first Cabot exit. There will be a four way stop hang a left and hit the first gas station on your left maybe a quarter mile up the road if that far.

If you want eat in Jonesboro. I'm not a lot of help. I rarely eat in Jonesboro except at tailgates or get the stadium food. Lewis BBQ is good at the stadium, some new place is there now with Philly Steak sandwiches that are good for stadium food. My wife and daughter like the wing place at the stadium.

I know there are a couple restaurants that have private club permits in Jonesboro but like I said, I rarely eat there and most of those now are chains. Without the added profit of alcohol sales, Jonesboro just isn't covered up with good dining options. If just want a sandwich, I highly suggest you take the Caraway Road exit off future I-555 (same off ramp as stadium but branches off first) and just drive down Caraway Road (the old main way into campus) until you see Munchy's on the right. Food is good but its just a sandwich shop but the place is loaded with ASU memorbilia. They have old jerseys, game programs, the counter is made from the court of our old basketball gym.

WHOLE HOG CAFE is endorsed by mrydel and ponyte. We eat our pregame meals there. Any time we hear there is a game being played anywhere we go eat. There is the original in Little Rock, but the one mentioned here recently opened and is very near my home. So much for my diet.

Whole Hog is known for their Sauces! They are the best! The guys are staying in the River Market so they really ought to eat down there rather than stopping on the road but thats up to them. There is the original Whole Hog on Cantrel Rd. about 5-7 minutes west of the River Market also.

With the possible exception of Boise St, has there been an opponent in recent memory whose fans were as pleasant to interact with as stAte's?

Whole Hog is excellent. Arkstfan is being a bit sensitive to Texicans. The fact is, Whole Hog has good pork and beef but its real delicacy is dry BBQ squirrel ribs. They are kind of small and there isn't much meat upon them, but oh so delicious. Since squirrel is in season year round, one can count of fresh squirrel.

I would think that since Doctors quit making house calls that you have a lot more free time.
