Carrying a loaf of bread.....

again ? I was not at the game last night but, as I remember, radio announcer Rich Phillips said Willis was carrying the ball like "a loaf of bread again" when SMU was on ASU's 11 yard line down 10 points midway in 4th with a good chance to get back in the game with a score. Willis got hit and fumbled on the play and ASU went on to score again. The game was out of reach after that.............Willis still carries the ball like that all the time and I just can't believe Coach Burns/Bennett apparently do little to try to correct that....I mean if Willis continues to do it, they should replace him for at least a few plays to try to get his attention.....Now with our last place defense, I'm certainly not trying to say we lost just because of Willis, but still that can/should be corrected. We still have 9 games to play.

Its because our current coaching is non existent!

All these people who are afraid to tell Phil Bennett to step aside because the coaching train left the station about 6 years ago are ridiculuos.

This team looks horrible, SMU Football once again is pathetic. Why because we hired a snak oil salesman not a proven Division 1 football coach period! I am sorry sometimes the truth hurts

I am sure Phil Bennett is a nice man, but it doesn't mean he's isn't out of his element

If this guy was hired because there were claims he was defensive coach well then he should be fired this morning, or step down

our defense is horrendous, I heard how when he came here anybody with a pulse got playing time

well whatever he trotted out in Arkansas is worse than what he walked into

he ia failure and a disgrace and he can only blame himself

i'm out...........................

Does Willis have a QB coach? He definantly has talent and raw ability, but seems the "little things" are overlooked like protecting the ball, even though it took til game 3 this season for him to lose a fumble which is better than last year.
But also, I can't recall him making an intentional pump fake to draw a defender away from the play or even selling the play action (most he just stands and handsoff). Seems like a QB coach with attention to detail would really help Willis out with the little things that could make him a much better QB,,,,,that, and a new coach, offensive coordinator, etc.....
