He's with the Titans right now, right?
Might be a good idea.

As we are fodder for gomeangreen.com Todd Dodge. He could make 5 times what he is making.

I recall someone saying he already turned this job down once.

Chow was discussed the last go around. He was contacted. My recollection was that he asked for sooo much money, he was dismissed. He asked for something akin to seven figures a year, which was more than Stoops was offered at OU. It was stupid. There is a reason nobody has made him a head coach yet.
I really don't think that highly of him, but that is just me.

When you ask for that much money it's because you really don't want the job and it would take a ridiculous amount of cash to make you even think about it. Can't say I blame him; after being at USC, and then Tennessee Titans, SMU wouldn't seem to be a right move. He's going to look more along the lines of a top 25 program, or advancement in the NFL.
Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!

Then we need to step up and give more money

Yes, or either continue with mediocrity from other programs or possible up and comers from lower ranks, i.e. div. 1-AA or some such.

I hope you all realize that with that 7 figure head coach there will need to be several 6 figure assistant coaches with good experience, talent and recruiting ability. The head coach does not act alone. I will be the first to agree that a high profile, high dollar coach would be the wish if a change is made but the price tag will be much, much greater than just the head coach. One of the reasons a head coach is successful is the people with whom he surrounds himself.

definitely agree with u. the one comforting fact in this case is that orsini's at the helm, not copeland. orsini will get the best crew in here guaranteed

Weren't we excited about the beginning of Copeland's tenure as well? I think so. Let's wait before we anoint Orsini as a savior.

So do we cut PB loose now and sacrifice one more season and let a high power coach recruit for him?
