Its not like we're looking for someone to maintain this freight train of a program Bennett got over the hump
Get someone who knows offense, how to make something of nothing, and if nothing else, there's a newspaper in town that would care a little more

I'm not for firing Phil, but if it must be done, I'd be alright with this choice.

Huh? I said I wasn't in favor of firing Phil. I've said that all along.

no, I'm accepting of the fact that it might be inevitable. Sucks, but I think the writing is on the wall. Hope I'm wrong.

I can't disagree with you there. with as many frog fan turds I encountered in austin two weeks ago I hope their program goes down the toilet. I was so happy to see them lose to Air Force.

unfortunately there is NO WAY applewhite takes this job. he is on track to be a bcs headcoach by his late 20's. nothing to gain by coming to SMU. he didn't want the rice job, he wouldn't want this one either.
No you don't fire phil right now, but we will be 2-4 or 1-5 half way through the season. Once that happens, you are looking at his days being VERY numbered.

He is.
Major is 29.... unless Saban dies and Major is next in line, he will be 30 before he could possibly head coach a game.
He's a mere 13 days younger than I.... just a pup you know. Probably wouldn't have a chance against me in EA NCAA football, just not enough experience. Those 13 days really count.
