Why the Anger?

Still don’t understand why everyone is so upset about Saturday’s loss. Vegas had Arkansas State favored in that game. Yes, it was only 3.5 points, but had we played them better yet still loss would that had made you feel better…is that how low some of your expectations have fallen?
Here is where your anger should have been directed over these past few years…PB’s recruiting ability.
During the last 4 years, our average Rivals ranking is 91.
Stallion Question … are there even 5 players on this current team that Texas Tech would offer scholarships to coming out of HS?... I can only think of Cory Muse. On the other hand, is there even 1 player on the Tech team we WOULDN’T have offered? So they have 80+ players we want, we have at most 5 players they want, and you wonder why they humiliate us year after year?
Oh, and that Arkansas State team some of you were all making fun of?....during the past 4 years their average Rivals ranking is 85.

The anger stems from getting our [deleted] handed to us by a sunbelt team, a big 12 team and a lucky win over another sun belt team.
At least last year we weren't getting blown out, hell Tech only scored 35 on us at their home stadium.....and there was some hope at a turnaround.
After watching the first three games, it is evident our offense misfires more than it clicks and our defense is the worst in the history of SMU and probably one of the worst defenses in the whole country...at any division.
This all falls squarely on Bennetts shoulders, after six years in a row, our defense should not be in this shape and relying on so many untested/untalented players.
That is where my anger comes from, we will be lucky to win 2 games this year after being told this was going to be the year.....
Makes me angry.

If you have seen SMU play in person or on tv over the last many years (not just the PB years) then you know exactly why people are upset. I am not going to cast stones. The season will play itself out. Orsini may then have to make a decision. It is way past time for SMU to make a full commitment or get out of d-1 football. It seems that every 5-6 years I write almost exactly the same thing. Gets old.
If you don't think coaching makes a difference then look at Rice this year as compared to last. It makes a big difference.

I know all about the blow-outs. As I stated earlier, under PB we are 5 times more likely to lose by 30+ points than beat a team with a winning record.
I simply don't understand why the anger NOW?
This train wreck has been developing for years...and has been mostly due to PB's failures at recruiting. But outside of Stallion, I never hear much criticism about PB when he recruits sub-par atheletes….only hear criticism when these sub-par athletes perform sub-parly.
It leads to my real theory...way too may cheerleaders on this board...
According to Rivals, lowly Arkansas State had better athletes on the field than SMU.
According to Vegas, Arkansas State was the better team.
Score one for Rivals and Las Vegas over Pony Fans...

That's EXACTLY what just crossed my mind, EastStang. We had the glory years right up to 1950 and then we were a less than average team in the SWC for the thirty years after that. Folks got tired of it and took action. Here's hoping for the same passion in fixing this thing but for a different means to that goal.

ND is stuck with fat Charlie for awhile. He signed a 10 year contract, this is year 3. That would be one whopper buy-out, they'd have to hock the Golden dome to get that kind of bread.

If they'd only have been 75% as sick we'd have been in the upper half of the SWC every year and in the Big 12 right now.
