He didn't want to become a tight end!

No, that position is reserved for our QB recruits.

Didn't he want to play QB, though? That would mean, by extension, that he would be playing tight end, no?

And what position is he playing at UH? Running Back???

Oh, so I guess for SMU it was about being QB, but at UH he will play wherever they told him? Or did they sell him on QB and put him where they wanted...wait...that would mean SMU was honest with him...and he didn't want honesty...he wanted to be shined on...ergo, he might have played tight end.

Wow...funny how things work.

He wanted to play RB. We did not want him at RB. He went elsewhere. He had AMAZING numbers in highschool but was a 2A player. Averaged something like 11 yards per carry, along with 3,000 yards and 40 TDs-ish as a Senior. As a true freshman he is UH's #2 RB. Thats okay, I trust Bennett's judgement, he prolly doesn't have the talent to be a D1A RB anyways. And besides, we don't use the RB's we have, what the heck do we need more for???

Speak of the devil. Article in today's Houston Chronicle on UH's #2 RB....

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5150114.html

On the season he has 19 carries for 105 yards and 1 TD. Thats in two games- @ Oregon and @ Tulane. In only 2 games and on 19 carries he has more yards rushing than either of our top 2 RB's D-Mart or Mapps. Of course not more yards rushing than the captain of our "Rusty Burns presents Chicken with Head Cut Off" offensive Justin Willis. Also, while our O-Line is pretty poor, I think UH's is equally poor as I recall they are thin at the position.

I think Bennett liked him but wanted him to be a safety and Ganaway wanted to be a RB. I said last week that this is a mistake if he's really talented - Expony18 disagreed and basically said you recruit based on need and we've got a lot of RBs. We do but if this guy's better than all of them, give him a scholarship. If Deion Sanders wants to play for you give him a scholarship even if you've got a glut of CBs. I know that's an extreme example. Ganaway's also supposed to be a great student. He's from a 2A school which doesn't mean he doesn't have a ton of potential but it does mean there's more of a risk since he played against weaker competition - at that point you hope Bennett can evaluate talent and it's frustrating that he really looks to have missed the mark here...

So he wouldn't have been a tight end...hmm.

Bennett forgot because he doesn't use lists...
