Just caught the end of the announcers mentioning it on the broadcast, but does anyone know the facts/story behind this brilliant move?

I don't know the story, but it was clearly visible on the CSTV broadcast.

It's the Diamond M grass seed stunt - Phase II.
TCU admin had to 'Pony Up' considerable $$$ to paint the field from the 35-to-35 to try and cover it up...obviously not as successful as they would have liked!
I heard the ad exec from The Richards Group who came up with the 'Pony Up!' campaign did it to try and salvage his job.

The vandalism was done by "Round-Up" and cost the university 25,000$.

And I'm sure the purple dye in the fountain in front of Dallas Hall didn't cost SMU anything at all.
After all, they could have left it there for all to see on national TV. I would have preferred that.

Game is being replayed right now on CSTV if you have it available.
Believe it or not, we let them block the punt again.

One man's vandalism is another man's art.
