The rivalry lives

If you don't think so, then you missed the fight in section T between two of our students and two TCU students. Kinda weak, but at least the venom seems to be filling. Think it was in the third quarter.

No security to be found until long after it was broken up.

MHM I was there! Section T was mainly SMU but some idiot TCU drunkards and company were there ready to make trouble. Wish I could have participated in the fight :)

Nothing like alcohol to bring out our maturity.

There was a little flare up in the W section as well. Some kid with his body painted in purple and white tried to mix it up with several of the SMU folk. Minor pushing and shoving, verbal jousts, and some decent insults from both sides until the popo showed up.

My favorite moment was when three purple clad kids came over to the SMU section and started chanting "TCU." My clever retort: "Nice UT hat, dude."

That shut them up.

I was kind of worried about stuff like that, being as how I was the only red shirt sitting in a sea of purple over in section B. Suprisingly though, I was treated very well. I got a little grief when I stood up and shouted "Pony Up" every time we did anything positive, but it was all civilized. When they pick-sixed Willis (completely his fault btw, he was locked onto that reciever practically before the snap) the Frog next me even handed me his traveler of Beam and said it looked like I needed it more than him. He was right.

Classy move.

Unless of course it was laced with slow release rat poison, in which case I don't know how many more posts Squier05 can spit out until he keels over.

Please let everyone on the board know that you burned your fan redshirt by attending the game for more than one play. :D

Not nearly enough. Counting the band, maybe a thousand or so give or take a couple of hundred. What was nice though was that maybe a fourth of those were students. We need to be bringing a much larger crowd than that. Having a late kickoff didn't help, but it ain't that far to drive folks.

Saturday night Dave Matthews was performing in the Dallas area, as well as SMU sending their ticket allotment back to TCU on Thursday afternoon (which is required). In addition, the fairly lopsided loss to Arkansas State took a pretty good deal of the wind out of peoples' sails, at least for rivalry week.

Yes it's still unfortunate and unacceptable, just letting the people know.

Yes, I think the rivalry is alive considering some SMU folks we ran into going into Amon Carter stadium.
