What the heck man? Martin is how big and you dont give him the ball on a 4th and 1 on a night that he is running as hard as ive seen him run in a long time! Im a huge Mapps homer but these guys are NOT being used correctly at all! Martin should clearly be a short yardage and goal line guy plus more! And have we not figured out Willis doesnt run the option well at all, way to much hesitation on his part and if he does dish it off the rb gets killed. TERRIBLE play calling

He had been pulled out of the game temporarily because of getting his bell rung. He wasn't cleared to play on that down.

I'm with you. I have no clue as to why we have Martin run outs, and Mapps hit the line. It makes no sense. Unless the logic of "Mapps is smaller he can fit through smaller holes" is used. (God, I hope not)

Actually that is not right. He got his "bell rung" while blocking on the 4th and 1.

Thought I might be wrong. Oh well.

He had 100 yards rushing on 19 carries. For the year he is averaging 4.4 ypc. Still cannot figure out why we can't throw in a Tight End and McKinney at Fullback and really try and run the ball. Then work Sanders, Givens, and Lowery as the receivers. Not sure why the OC can't get his best players on the field and make matchups an issue. Sledge and Zimmerman do not create matchup problems for anyone.

Though while I am at it, I am hoping that Kennard Burley might want to block against UTEP. I was rather annoyed at his effort at the end of the game.

Idk bout that but im not taling about just last night. This has been going on for a long time...one that sticks out in my mind is the 4th and goal against Houston last year when they try to stretch the field with a toss to Mapps that he was lucky to even get his hands on cause of the D

could not agree more.. I don't understand why we can't have an offensive formation where Chase is a TE on the LOS, McKinney is a FB and Martin is the feature back

McKinney is a leader on the football team and all he does is play special teams. I do not get it. Time for the staff to go.

Bullshi$ excuse, STL. The point is not if DMart was hurt. Given your scenario & your best runner is hurt, then you kick the FG & cut the lead.

But instead , we've run this same stupid play on 4th down with the sun up, when the suns down, at home, on the road, every damn quarter, wearing every color uniform since this OC has been in charge.

On 4th & anything, he's the "deer-in-the-headlights coach"!

And,

the 7 second conversation PB had with our OC after that moronic call speaks volume about what he thought of that game losing call, as well.

It's not a [deleted] excuse. It's not any kind of excuse. He said something, so I gave a reason I thought was right. Looks like I was wrong. Big deal. Move on. I thought he wasn't in the game and he was.

Martin goes for 120-plus and two touchdowns this weekend.

He'll have to get 60 yard touchdown runs out of his two carries

???

He had 19 carries against Frog High, and UTEP's defense is not as good.

Hopefully he'll get plenty of chances, put his shoulder down and run through some UTEP defenders.

I'll match Corso's bet and raise him.

Martin = 130 yards, three TDs this Saturday.
