Its Deja Vu over and over and over just like Groundhog Day! This has been going on for SIX YEARS and every game seems to be the same. SIMPLY AMAZING!

I was thinking whoever comes in next year can't use the "cupboard is bare" excuse. Our talent level is 2-3x better than when Phil took over. A decent coach could pull a Todd Graham and get us to a bowl game, I really do believe that.

According to Rivals, over the past 4 years, SMU is tied with Tulane as the 2nd lowest in C-USA, ahead of only Rice.

According to every magazine I have read over the past 4 years, SMU's recruiting classes are at best average and at worst in the bottom quarter compared to C-USA opponents.

Don't know where you are getting the idea our classes are at the top.

In speaking with an "insider" recently, someone who has been behind the scenes of the SMU football program for over 25+ years...he says the talent is there, we have the best athletes we have had in YEARS!! Phil and Burns, etc., etc., are nice guys, class acts..but, time to move on....in a weird way, I think maybe Phil should resign Monday morning at 8 a.m...??!?

I think he is going to wait until after his 50th loss in 6 seasons. Do you get a gold watch for that?

FT,

I simply don't see the talent. We have a qb, who, while big on heart, is slight in stature. Yet he is our leading rusher in attempts and yards. If he were to go down, this team becomes really bad really quick. That is one of the many problems here. No depth at too many positions.

the second biggest group to ignore when evaluating talent is SMU Insiders. The first biggest group to ignore are SMU players. They are too emotionally invested in the TEAM thet they can't see the forrest from the trees. What player in the last 15 years ever thought that SMU wouldn't go a bowl or that they were at least building a championship team? Brings me a chuckle ever time I hear a player talk about how great we are going to be. Players know next to nothing about how good the players on the opponent are going to be until they get beat. This is an almost universal reality. SMU does have some sprinkled talent on offense but I'm not sure they have more than 1 championship caliber player on defense.

No. It pisses me off. But remember be fair-I tell you the same thing on just about every signing date before they even get to SMU and thoroughly explain why SMU has marginal talent in comparison to our opponents. And I point out what our opponents are doing to get a competitive advantage on SMU. It's simply not a surprise when SMU gets taken down by 2 Rivals 4 stars players who combine for 406 yards in total offense and who couldn't get admitted to SMU.

Hey broken record- you don't have to respond to every post by saying the same thing over and over - we get your point.

doesn't care who wins.

Get used to it. I have to listen to the garbage posted on this board between December through August. October through November is mine.

There's no depth at all. When most of your team's walk-on are from Jesuit, Kinkaid etc...you know that team will have problems playing D-1 football at a competitive level. So spare...
