So tired

I can't take it anymore. I have held out hope for long enough that things would turn around. I am tired of watching poor play calling, poor coaching decisions, poor tackiling, lack of fundamentals, you name it.
As a D1 coach, how do you not know that if you don't take the penalty, time runs out, I knew it, everyone around me knew it, but apparently phil didn't know it. That is inexcusable. No that didn't cost us the game, but it is just another bad decision in a long line of bad decisions that has beaten me down to no end. I am tired of watching the unimaginative playcalling of Rusty Burns, the lack of fundamentals of the Gush D and the braindead actions of Phil Bennett.
Please tell me one reason why I should expect anything positive for the rest of the season.

I'm afraid there is nothing positive to look forward to about this season. I believe the outcome of this season was predetermined by keeping Phil "Goal Line Flop" Bennett after we lost to Rice last year. There's always next year (or 2010).

this is my third year at smu and am not going to any more football games this year. i have no idea how some of u veterans are still on this board after a display like today...when we went to overtime it was obvious we were going to lose the game

This brand of football is making me old before my time though.

Most former students just allow SMU Football to fade out of their lives. Most on this board, myself included, are apparently obsessive-compulsive or just masochistic.

Very few grads from 1990+ even come to the games....no school spirit.

20 years in the wilderness..what would you expect. Us oldtimers remember championships. That is why we still go because we at least can remember what big time football was like and that eases the pain somewhat.

It's like banging ugly NTSU chicks. You know you you'll just feel let down and guilty about it afterward but you keep doing it hoping that maybe
this time it'll turn out OK.

I can't blame anyone for not going. It takes a special person to withstand the constant psychological beatdown of SMU football.
