Stat question

Does our coaching staff keep stats for yards gained after contact? My brother-in-law [1972 grad] was in town and came with us to the game. He hasn't seen a game in 6 years. We decided that UTEP probably had an average gain of at least 4 yards after contact. He could not believe that a divsion one school doesn't know how to tackle. He mentioned something about us needing to work on fundamentals. I responed that the coach had forgotten about fundamentals.

Yeah, it looked like our guys went to the "Roy Williams school of tackling."

My stat question is what was the 3rd down conversion rate for UTEP. Seems once again whether it is third and long or 3rd and short, UTEP managed to get that extra yard or two to convert, especially when it counted.

Also, I think we have blown a 1 st and goal in every game. Not scoring on that first drive was a bad omen.

Each team converted 7 of 13 third downs.
