i love the picture of PB. and how is weis #1? i know its been rough this year for the Irish faithful, but seriously, are they actually going to fire him after one bad year? especially after that 10 year extension?

The Irish have never been 0-5 and they have not yet played USC. They are so bad they might even lose to Navy for the first time since Roger Staubach graduated. They will be bowl ineligible in about two weeks. Of course Charile Weis is on the hot seat. 10 year contracts are bad deals for colleges.

Weis is paying for the really poor recruiting the last few years of Willingham combined with a tough schedule at the start of the season. He had a great class last year and this years group looks to be even better.
His job isn't in jeopardy at all.

That would be absolutely beautiful, and not just for those living in Annapolis.

Shouldn't his first class be juniors now, or at least redshirt sophmores? If Willingham's recruiting was so bad how did Weiss win in his first two years? Wasn't Willingham only there for three years?

Weis is horrible. And don't blame his problems on Willingham.
Weak excuse...just like some blaming SMU's football miseries on the now 20 year old death penalty.

Willingham had some good teams at Stanford and seems to have Washington on the road back to glory. Its of course my view that any idiot can recruit for Notre Dame. Basically any Catholic kid in the Country is fair game for the Irish with the leftovers going to Boston College. Wish the Methodists had that mentality. Even with the academic restrictions ND has, there should be no problems for the Irish in recruiting. Willingham has to be laughing his tail off.

Sure charlie weis looked pretty good the last 2 years with willinghams players but look at how they are doing now under weiss recruiting classes. hopefully they will get better so weis doesnt look like such an embarassment.

Weis has only had 2 recruiting classes and they have both been stellar. The 2005 class was basically all Willingham's and it was dismal (Weis hired about a month before signing date) as was the 2004 class.
The true freshman, RS freshmen & true sophs are Weis's and that is it. RS sophs, JRs & Srs are all Willingham and they are bad.
