Unlike the football team, the band let the game come to it at halftime on Saturday.

About time. Nice performance. You see what happens when you don't have to trick it up.

The Band was GREAT on Saturday They are getting better every week and seem to be clicking in all phases of the game. Wish I could say the same for the footballers....

I am sorry I had to miss this game, especially the half time. If the band really did that great and showed that much improvement, then let them know. Emails and letters from fans are always posted on "the board" in the band hall. Receiving kudos from the outside always seems to lift the kids spirit and make them work even harder.

Here are the email's of the directors.

Don Hopkins
Director of the SMU Mustang Band

Tommy Tucker
Assistant Director and Arranger of the SMU Mustang Band

Now as for why I had to miss the game, let me just say I was actually in Norman OK and happend to end up in a bar across the street from the OU campus and watched the last 5 minutes of the OU/CO game. When CO kicked the field goal with no time let, the bar went quiet and was completely empty in less than 10 minutes.

My only complaint about the band this week was the pom tune, but I know that's not their fault. It just doesn't translate well into a marching band piece, but if that's what the pom squad wants to dance to, then oh well :?

If we're talking about the same thing, I'm troubled that they played that on the east side and not the west side where most of the fans are sitting.

What was the show?

Christina Aguilara show.

Candyman, and some others.

As for the pom tune... It was an incredible arrangement of a not so great song. I imagine it's hard to arrange for a 85 piece ensemble when a 4 man band can play it.

That's a great song for us, but I can't envision anything else translating...

Well, if the crowd dug it, then it's a good show. Well job...
