QB walks towards sideline with football saying that there's "something wrong with it". As he gets near the sideline, the coach gives him the 'go' signal and it's off to the races and a TD! Brilliant!

Would like it better if it were the wrong cleats play. Maybe the coach could hold up a pair of Ronald McDonald shoes or somesuch to really confuse the defense and everyone else. He then scampers to the end zone in his socks carrying his shoes in one hand and the pigskin in the other.

Play is illegal in almost all youth leagues and every level above it. The handoff is not valid. If, however, it is tossed backwards like a swinging gate then it is valid and is already in my playbook for emergencies.

I like the variation where the QB walks towards the sideline in disgust as if he called timeout and then the center shotgun snaps it to the running back.

Friend of mine who happens to be an ACC line judge offers this assessment:
"the center’s snap if it was slow violates the rule regarding a legal snap which is something to the effect of 'a quick and continuous motion'……furthermore, this act is an intent to deceive by the regular rules of football- similar to a player hiding the ball in his jersey……further-furthermore #2, the referee has the following discretion regarding Unfair Acts in Rule 9-2-3 'The Referee may take any action he considers equitable, including assessing a penalty, awarding a score, or suspending or forfeiting the game' to take any measures he deems.â€
