Have the ponies played USM before? It's hard to hate a team that uses the same initials arranged a little different.

Hard to hate? What sort of authentic Christianity are they teaching you at that theology school?

s. miss has not played well this year, and now they don't have a qb! with 2 weeks to heal up and prepare, phil bennett should have a good shot at winning this one. it's hard to believe, but if we lose this one, smu will be 1-5? what tha?

Looks like this is the first meeting between the two schools in football.

Could someone tell the idiot who lists Southern Miss items on e-Bay that they are USM?
Type in "SMU" on e-Bay and you get a bunch of Golden Eagle stuff. Bad enough we have to contend with sneakers and sunglasses that have "SMU" in the model no.
And don't get me started about St. Mary's U. of Minnesota....

Enter Southern Methodist and click the little box that also says "Search title and description". That should help eliminate the faux-SMU items.
Bobby Collins came to SMU from USM

After Ron Myers left SMU, Bobby Collins was hired away fomr USM to coach the ponies. After the DP, Collins went back to the Hattiesburg area and remained there the best I can find out. Guess the schools eventually had to meet on the playig field with all this history between them.

BTW you guys realize that Southern Miss' Coach Jeff Bower is a former SMU assistant. I think he was a RBs Coach.
