Is SMU were a Stock

It would be in the clutches of a 20 year Bear Market.
There are 3 phases of a bear market -
1) Hope - the PYE years
2) Denial - Cavan but mostly Bennett years, especially these last 2 when many thought we had 'turned the corner' and were only a game or two away from returning to greatness or even normalcy.
3) Capitulation - Where we stand today. Total lack of interest and disgust with the program. Also the BEST opportunity for change.
I had posted earlier that before the season started, I was rooting for SMU to lose to either NTSU or Ark State. Truth be known I was really hoping they would go winless or close to it. While my heart wanted SMU to have a 10+ win season, my mind knew otherwise. The talent level simply isn't here and hasn't been for 20 years. Rivals has proven that point over and over again. Of all our opponents this season, over the past 4 years Rivals gives us a recruiting edge over Rice and NTSU only. If you are not a fan of Rivals, the 'other' offers these kids get (or don't) proves this point as well.
A 5-7 season would get most on this board angry at PB and think a coaching change fixs things. A 6-6 keeps it status quo.
Hopefully this 1-11 train wreck of a season exposes SMU FB once and for all for the FRAUD that it is and further fundamental institutional changes will occur.
At least that is my HOPE.
