Thought I'd point out that he looked pretty good out there Saturday. The future anchor of our Men's Track 4x1, made a nice catch that got called back due to a holding penalty.

I'm very glad we have him, and he will be good, but he is still a young true freshman. For example,

On first play after Tulane turnover we called the post play to Sanders that we have run before where Sanders is inside slot and Robinson was outside receiver. Robinson cut wrong way and ran into Sanders at about the 32-33 yard line and they both tripped and fell. They both went to the turf. Willis looked for Sanders who was down, saw no one on that right side (both our guys are on the ground), then ran for his life to the left and picked up 4 to 5 yards. Made it 2nd down and 6.

The 4 or 5 of us who saw it in our section just starting laughing. We can't get a break even when we do something right and actually call a play to go for it.

It was a good catch but the holding penalty was a joke. I watched it again when I got home and the replay shows the referee throwing the flag from about 15 yards downfield with Enright and the DL from Tulane having there backs to him, Enright did have his arm extended pushing the guy past Willis in the pocket, but that's not a hold. And the umpire who was right next to them didn't call it.

The officiating that game sucked, even confused the Fox announcers with some of the calls.

Reminds me of that "touchdown" Tulane had in front of the student section. It clearly wasn't a touchdown, the referee paused and then signaled touchdown. PB threw the challenge flag and while they were reviewing the play, the scoreboard showed the replay and they spotted him at the 1 1/2. There were quite a few questionable spots on that drive too. Ultimately they scored anyway, so it's all moot. Still C-USA refs suck. I hate playing out-of-conference away games because they come with us!

I agree that they have problems, but no one can top the WAC referees for total INCOMPENTENCE!
