Kincade named preseason All-WAC
Running back honored by Athlon

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU football standout Keylon Kincade has been named a pre-season All-Western Athletic Conference performer by Athlon Sports, the publication announced today.

Kincade, a senior from Troup, Texas, had a breakout season in 2002, setting a school record with 327 rushing attempts and totaling 1,279 yards on the ground, the third most in school history. He scored seven touchdowns and ran for more than 100 yards in eight games on his way to second team All-Western Athletic Conference honors.

"Keylon did a great job for us last year," said SMU Coach Phil Bennett. "We gave the ball to him and he kept running hard. He would get stronger the more we gave it to him. We needed him to be a workhorse and he came through. He was outstanding."

SMU opens the season on August 30, when the Mustangs travel to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech.
