What about Orgeron?

If he gets fired at Ole Miss...

1. Great recruiter - helped get USC on its feet in the early 2000s and won several recruiter of the year awards, I believe.

2. Great motivator, fiery and passionate.

Couldn't find success in the SEC, which is probably why people won't want him, but just thought I'd throw the name out there. Maybe not a good gameday coach?

If he can't succeed with SEC money flowing in, he surely can't succeed here.

Again, he is pretty far down the list of Coaches who fit the SMU job best.

You are correct. At first I thought it was Orgeron State, but it was Orgeron.

If we go to ex-Ole Miss coaches, I'd opt for David Cutcliffe who actually had a winning record there. But his current boss Phil Fulmer may be looking at the end of the year. That would be a very nice duo to get in here. Then FirePhil and PhirePhil wouldn't have to change their names.

Coach O would be a media darling in Dallas. Just look at his work for Rogers Dabbs Hummer:
