I think that title pretty well sums up the ACC. Will someone there please make a decision:

One interesting point from the various articles I read over the weekend is that they may defer the openning date to the 2005-2006 season. That could mean that the Big boys are going to vote to change the by-laws and thus only need 6 teams to approve expansion. They would go back to plan A. Va. Tech is not getting off the lawsuit train, although they have said, that they would certainly consider any offer coming from the ACC. UNC is getting lots of heat from their fans about this. My guess is that they will come around to the 12 team league.

I just don't see VT in the ACC. Not their kind of school and no TV market. It's very hard to say what will happen. I still feel the ACC will go to 12 with Miami, BC and Cuse but it may be an 11th hour decision. Can't see Miami only. What a mess.
Fresno Bee reported this weekend that Hawaii may be the MWC's first choice for expansion--man I hope so. Fresno as second. Will they go to 12? Who knows, but eventually they probably will. WAC west is crumbling as we keep watch on the ACC.

This article on the stare-down between the BE and ACC does a good job explanation of what might happen next. Net: ACC must expand.

Whenever I see ND mentioned in an article I automatically disregard it. So far they have been mentioned for every conference scenario east of the Mississippi. The should join us in the new SWC if you ask me.

My problem in College FB is the lack of control or infuence by the NCAA. Apparently, their hands-off approach represents fear of what the BCS schools might do, if they were threatened.
In any case, Myles Brandt's inaction guarantees on-going chaos, which ultimately hurts all sports and athletes, especially in the Mid-Majors.

I love where Brand says that NCAA institutions have a great deal of autonomy. Try inviting a recruit to your backyard barbecue or play a pick-up game with a potential recruit and see how much autonomy there is.

This entire episode is driven by BCS dollars. While I wish the NCAA executives would step in and abolish any championship that excludes, they are not the driving force behind this evil...
... it was, is, and continues to be ABC Executives. The same network that killed the SWC told the ACC it would not get the contract it wanted without a Championship game. Hence, this mess.
