New candidate

I was a political fundraiser last night and the featured speaker was former Virginia Senator George Allen who played QB at Virginia and of course has his father's name. I told him that if he didn't run for another office, SMU was looking for a head coach and he laughed and started talking about how they hadn't come back from the death penalty. He clearly has the gift of gab and was always one of the best retail politicians I've ever met. He really makes people think he likes them. Of course he's never coached, but then again, he had to deal with running plays through the Virginia legislature and had to deal with Russ Potts and his brother is a GM in the NFL.

Well, his dad did make winners out of Long Beach State prior to them discontinuing football. Can we dig him up?

George Allen is a dork! He deserved to get his [deleted] beat by Jim Webb.

But credit his dad for taking the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry up a few notches.
