until we announce who our next coach is.... if you don't like it, sorry. I had to deal all of PhirePhil nonsense for the last two years, so unless big brother gives me the boot, Applewhite will continue to make an appearance in my signature.

will Opie's brother be the RBs Coach? He always seems to show up wherever his brother is.

I'm all for it. Love the Longhorns. Hook'em Horns!!

And all old-timers who think it was Texas who had something to do with us getting the death penalty better get over that. We were responsible for our own actions.

Drop the whining act.

If only Mack would have gone with the better QB, TX would have taken the title in 2001. Who cares if he looks like he should be in the band? Simms sucked then and sucks now

Really? Which one made - and is still in - the NFL? And played out the rest of a game after rupturing (and eventually losing) his freakin' spleen? Simms didn't win every game, but the kid is talented and tough.

Coach Bennett lost his job. Change your name.

Simms sucks. Is he on your fantasy team? Major was absolutely a better QB for the college game, even if he isnt cut out to play in the NFL. Almost saved Simms' awful performance in the B12 Champ game in 01, and they certainly would have had a shot at the title if they would have gone with Applewhite, who gave them a north - south deep threat and opened up the field.

Coach Bennett lost his job. I dont think I can change my name (and am not really concerned about it). Simms is a joke.

i agree 100% about simms... he SUCKED in college and the only reason he made it to the nfl was because of his name and potential

Applewhite lost his share of games too. They were pretty even. I loved watching him play but he was not an elite QB. What I respect-no love in Applewhite is just because things didn't go right for him at UT he didn't pout and transfer to East Dakota State College of Technology. Instead he stuck to his commitment and he helped the team suceed. .

of course he wasn't an elite QB, but he played above his skill set

He was the best QB on the team, and I think you have to play the best guy you have.

Yep, we made our bed.... but I will say they did help us lie in it.
