Texas is a joke - 14-0 3 minutes in. Colt McCoy is not good enough if they want to be contenders.

Norm Chow leaving USC and Vince Young saved Mac Brown's job and legacy.

this goes back to the simms thing we were talking about in another thread. Mack brown is a good recruiter, not coach. Does anyone not see the similarities in the offense today relative to simms' offense? We run the SAME nonsense and have no deep threat. Charles is really more of a liability than an asset since he can rarely hold on to the ball.
I submit that Texas won despite mack brown in 2005 (jan 06). Vince Young ran the offense then, and they are now back to Mack's way...

I was in LV last year with UT fans when they played Ohio State...commented at the time that Colt was a TERRIBLE QB for UT.
Good enough to win 8-10 games per year...but not good enough to win 11-13 games...
those type of QB's are real challenges for HCs of high profile teams...much like Booty at USC

I submit Brown has one of the Top 3-5 records in the Country during his tenure. Talent wins-unbelievable talent wins even more. I'd like to suffer through some of that bad coaching.

I told some OSU fans in the Austin airport last year(day after) that neither Ohio State or texas were top 5 teams and the OSU would lose to an SEC team in the championship. One guy told me that he wanted me to "spend 2-3 weeks living in the woods alone so that I could find my sould and really think about who i am, since I dont know anything about football."
HA! But you are right, Colt tried to throw downfield once in the game and he vastly underthrew a wide open Sweed (I think it was him). He just isnt strong enough..

USC should have beat Texas by 3 touchdowns in that NC game. Fourth and one and you have one of the best RBs in college football on the bench? Homeboy is making a career with the saints being a decoy!
And SC has the worst fans in college football. They thought Booty should start over Leinart. Booty's struggles have everything to do with his recivers running bad routs, a third string offensive line, and injuries to at RB. Sanchez was the savior until he threw two huge picks in Auzten last weekend

I'll take that recruiting...not that coaching. As for his record, the Big 12 is not a very good conference, and they schedule quite a few nobodies each year.

Stallion, is there a more over hyped stat that a coaches overall record? You judge a coach at a major 1-a power by his win loss record against his rivals, ranked teams, and bowl games.

Booty is no Leinart and Colt (especially) is no Young..
Neither is that impressive to me, although I take Booty over Colt

Matt Leinart is prob the greatest college football quaterback ever and Vince Young might have been better in college. Those guys are once every 50 years type of players........
