I think we should all start concentrating really really hard...all the while thinking "please not Franchione, please not Franchione" at all moments of our daily lives until this dark cloud passes...

This thing is entirely sourced by Andre Ware. That I find odd. Andre Ware is so plugged in to A&M.

This has been building for a long time at A&M. The email-gate was the final straw. Interesting that it was leaked. Coincidence? Anyway Fran is hated by TCU, Alabama and A&M. I guess NM hates him too. Must be doing something right. If the option is your thing Fran is your man. He had LT at TCU. McGee at A&M wouldn't give up the ball. I don't have strong feelings about him one way or the other but it was clear in watching the team this year that he was done there.

I have very strong feelings about him. He's one of the most overrated coaches ever. He is definitely not what SMU needs.

You watch Biggin' is correct with at least many of the big names we are throwing around. He's not at the top of the list but I wouldn't be surprised if he was after SMU gets a few "Thanks-but No Thanks" or "I'm still considering other options". SMU forgot to get its house in order before starting a Coaching search. Fran didn't win at A&M because he didn't have the players OU or UT had. Aggies are going to have trouble finding a Coach who can change that.

Looks like Tuberville is their man. He was the D coordinator at A&M in '94 when they went 10-1 and had the 4th ranked D in the country. Other names are being tossed about. Money is no object for them.

I'm trying to figure out where you're going with this. I'm assuming you're criticizing SMU for something regarding this search.
BTW, I understand the Aggies want Tommy Tuberville out of Auburn.

Does that now block a possible Bowden/ATM marriage, so that now Bowden might see our welcoming arms more favorably? Texas A & Bowden...sounds ugly...

Yeah right-the Aggies are going to get a Coach who hasn't coached for 10 years. Bowden wouldn't rate a courtesy interview at A&M. They've got to find someone who can recruit with Stoops and Brown and that ain't going to be Bowden.

Really, you don't get what he is saying? He's alluding to the failure on the part of the administration and athletic department to make all necessary changes so that we can compete at the same level of our natural and traditional rivals thus making the job unattractive to any serious coaching candidate that has options other than SMU.

I was thinking it was something beyond what we already know with the changes and whatnot. My bad. I overanalyzed it.

Not to worry, Fran won't come here. His goal is to coach a national championship team. A stint at SMU is not a stepping stone in that direction. He really doesn't need a job...I'm sure his golden parachute of a buyout will cover his living expenses for quite awhile.
