is hire a head coach with success at the division 1 level as a head coach. This is insane. SMU is one of the hardest division 1 schools to win at and we have never hired a coach who has been a division one coach. Aside from any models, this has been the biggest mistake we have made. We need to hire a guy who has a resume that fits our needs, that is winning at a place with academic restrictions in division 1. Our man is Gary Barnet

Ron Meyer coached at UNLV, didn't he? And Bobby Collins at Southern Miss?

Meyers and Collins, those were the days

The great eighties has Meyers and Collins. And you know what, players ought to be paid to play football as long as gthey meet the full academica requiremetns of all other students. Maybe ponies were just ahead of their time. Come the revolution, and the NCAA will go down.

What D1 HC in his right mind would come to Dallas, Tx and coach at SMU when there are other positions available across the country. Example, Bowden leaving Florida for 1.5, he makes that at ESPN, or wherever he works. Plus he is looking for something bigger and better. We will have to break the bank to get a D1 HC in here, or, and I hate to say it, it will be some [deleted] with baggage that coaches in Texas now, (Fran)?
