Here I am a loyal alum and yet I have never gone to watch our parade. No even when Doak Walker was the Grand Marshall.

So help me with where this thing is and what the route it and when starts and all that good stuff.

There's a chance I may actually attend this one.

The parade begins in the parking lot of the quad that used to be known as the upperclass quad, circles around north on Bishop, and heads south on Bishop by the b school, Perkins Natatorium and what used to be known as the freshman quad. It starts at 11:00.

The football team will exit Perkins Chapel around 11:25 am Saturday so if you are out on the Boulevard to watch the parade, stop by and give the Mustangs some love!

That's a contradictory statement.

The Pigskin Revue - at one time - was the greatest variety show on stage! I loved attending the show on Friday night of Homecoming weekend when I was in grade school, junior high and high school. This youngster got his first 'squirrel shot' while sitting on the front row at McFarlin Auditorium and watching the Kappa Pickers perform. Ah...memories! :) Yeah, the Pigskin Revue probably should go away...or...someone should come along and return it to its former glory...like the football team needs, too!

Yeah, 75 years, that's a long time. Pigskin Revue was around before SMU played in the Rose Bowl in '35. Bob Hope hosted Pigskin several times. Morgan Fairchild was even a guest at it in '83.

To return it to its glory takes some interest on the part of the administration, the students (the Greeks used to contribute acts, but now they do Sing Song), the alumni and the Athletic Department not scheduling basketball games on the same evening.

Argh!....until now Darth agreed with several of your posts, but now you show your ignorance and everything that is wrong with SMU...

It's called tradtion my friend, that is what the M Band is all about. Pigskin Revue is now in its 75th year. It features talent from across the campus (although the Greeks have been lacking lately).

This is one of Darth's biggest gripes about SMU..NO INSTITUTIONAL MEMORY!...As much as I despise A&M, they have tradition. They know where they come from, and they are proud of it. SMU instead of having pride in its tradition, buries them and tries to invent new ones (e.g. having a masked rider on a black horse).

In the 30's the Mustang Band was recognized as the "Best Collegiate Band in the U.S" by the Hearst Newspapers. The Mustang Band was names by CBS as the Best College Band in 1968. In the 1980's the Mustang Band as named the Best Band in Texas. All of this comes from its traditions.

One of those traditions is Pigskin Revue.

Ok..Enuff said!

Coming to Pigskin?
Sadly, no. :( A little something called employment prevents me from attending this year's Pigskin Revue. I hope to be in attendance in 2008.
