Thoughts from the game

I had a lot of fun at the game on Saturday. Great weather and an exciting game.

1. I estimated the crowd at around 6,000 - 7,000. I thought there had to be 4 empty seats for every person at the game.
2. I was impressed with the number of Rice fans at the game.
3. 25 minute halftimes suck...so we went out and walked around the boulevard for a while. Wish we had something like that.
4. Demyron Martin looks to have a bad attitude. He walks around with his shoulders slumped and if there's not a lot of room to run, he seems to just give up and go down easily.
5. Willis is lucky he didn't get flagged 15 yards for his little helmet tossing tirade and/or the subsequent yanking of his arm away from the ref.
6. The press box and luxury suites already look 30 years old from the outside. Why did they choose that drab, gray exterior instead of something that looks more modern and/or incorporates some color (preferably red and blue)?
7. On the bright side, things can only get better...

While it is true you can only go up from the bottom, no where does it say you are going to.

Guess they wanted to throw in a little of that Amon Carter tradition to make you feel at home.

I cannot imagine a Lance Mclheney or Chuck Hixon pulling a Willis tantrum. That was just one more embarrassment in an evening of embarrassments. And it can get worse. We could be 0-12 next year.

Well then thanks for the hospitality! I like Ford a lot but I do wonder why they went with the gray while everything else is so modern.

Demyron is not used correctly and I could say that about d-back and other positions. No I am not a coach but do know the game. The reason we give up the leads is because we change the attitude of the players and the positionaing of the players after we get a lead.

NO CUSHION.

This will get better.

Actually they are "mood" boxes. When we win they turn bright cheery colors.

Let's be real honest here, this team has the talent to have beaten, TCU, Ark. State, UTEP, Tulane, UH, Rice, and Tulsa. We just didn't get it done. The last five games could easily have gone our way, but we managed to pull defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I strongly disagree. I think SMU, along with maybe Rice, Tulane and UAB, have the WEAKEST talent in an enormously inept C-USA.

NTSU passed for over 600 yards on us...with one receiver accounting for over 300 yards...

I bet on the mean green website they are saying...."Let's be real honest here, this team had the talent to beat SMU, we just didn't get it done...that game could easily have gone our way"

they also hung 60 on Navy . . . a freshman passed for 8 TD's . . . all in all that was still a loss, they still didn't beat us, just like we didn't beat TCU, Ark St., Utep, Rice, Tulane, etc, etc, etc... a game can change on 2 or 3 plays, last year, we got a lot of breaks and it led to 6 wins, this year, we are not getting any at all... good teams can overcome that, talent makes up for some of that. our talent may not be the best, but it is good enough to win in this conference

I've seriously wondered the same thing. I think it makes Ford look cheap and kinda ugly. Remember when homes were built with aluminum window frames? It looks like that.

Um, actually I think they are wondering how they can get rid of their high school defensive coordinator.
