that's why you hire a Defensive Coordinator. Seriously, this is a hands on Head Coach on the offensive side of the Ball-as I remember he calls his own plays. I just posted this to back up my comment that he is one of the best offensive coaches SMU could hope to get. I'm not driving the bandwagon but the guy can Coach offense.

keep PB as DC and hire thorpe... i agree but why would he come to SMU? (bc he can win in CUSA) ? the guy is a proven coach, yes he had a bad year, but no need for him to back track.... who knows maybe he will get offered the A&M job (he was their QB coach).

you cant force PB to stay as a coordinator, he was hired as a head coach. There is a reason you have never heard of it happening before.

just a suggestion. he is a good recruiter and a good DC. i do think that he will have better offers as a DC at a big school

I've always gotten the impression from players that PB has really been SMU's defensive coordinator this entire time...and every year those stats have been going down faster than a DG!

I said he was a good offensive coach but can he manage a team without Graham ? Tulsa, who was beat by Graham at Rice last year, started going downhill last year without Graham. His louisville team this year is almost as disorganized as Bennett's. Poorly managed and poorly prepared almost every week........This guy is really not a proven HEAD coach...
