Movie Analogy to the situation we have at SMU

I think if you were going to compare a movie scene to the situation we have with this next hire, it would be from the movie pulp fiction.

The scene I’m talking about goes something like this:

John Travolta accidentally shoots the guy in the back seat of the car after Samuel Jackson hits a bump in the street. When they go to a near by friends house, they are put in quite a predicament. The friends wife is coming home in 30 minutes and if she sees a car with brains sprayed all over it (not to mention a dead body) they will be screwed Freakin out and desperate, Mr. Jackson decides to call his boss, who tells Jackson he’s sending in the Wolf, after which everybody chills out. And why do they chill out even with the situation looking still extremely bad you ask? The reason is because the Wolf is a proven and CERTAIN fixer of dismal situations that look lost. The Wolf isn’t an up-and commer or a solid cleaner of messes. He is a guarantee.

And that is what SMU needs with this next hire. We need to hear Orsini when he announces the next head coach to say, “we just hired the Wolf (BOWDEN or an equivalent)â€

I think you got the movie right but you chose to focus on the wrong part. The real part of the movie that illustrates SMU football takes place in the basement of the pawn shop. Marcellus (Ving Rhames) is strapped to a chair with a ball gag in his mouth and gets anally raped by a skinny white guy dressed like a security guard. Bruce Willis comes downstairs with a huge sword and puts an end to the rape.

We have the proverbial ball gag in our mouth and have been taking quite a pounding for the last 20 years. We need a good coach who can come in and put an end to this terrible situation we find ourselves in.

If this is all referring to Pulp Fiction, it's no wonder I got up and left the theatre in the middle of it. What garbage.

Then clearly you don't enjoy good comedy.

As a fake general, you have shown your stripes. You are the Pawn Shop nazi's friend that enjoys hidden pleasures downstairs...

I'm Bruce Willis.

I guess I missed that part. Probably didn't miss anything.

And if that's your version of good comedy, then to each their own.
