Guys, as a graduate of both SMU and UNC, and close follower of both programs, it is just inconceivable to me that Butch Davis would leave UNC for ANY program, pro or college, this year. From all viewpoints the match between he and UNC has been fantastic in his 11 months thus far at UNC.

No doubt we'd love him at SMU, but speculation on Davis coming to SMU involves simply wasted time.

Now, whether or not he comes doesn't depend on your approval, correct?

i agree, and if he were to leave UNC it would be to Arkansas (family ties/home state).

I hope this isn't the BIG SURPRISE because it ain't going to happen. Arkansas could probably pay 3 Million a year and that's his alma mater. Butch would likely need to seek psychiatric help if he were considering this move.

I believe the rumor goes that we might have had Butch last year but we chose to give Bennett another year. Can't imagine he'd be available this year.

Besides being at UNC for only one year UNC is a sleeping giant and Davis can win a national championship with the Tarheels.

Chapel Hill is a great place to live...Believe it not a lot of people would rather live in Chapel Hill than Dallas.

It doesn't make it true, nor significant.

This thread is turning into a waste of time. And notice we aren't wasting our time speculation about the new coach. A lot of people I questioned believe that is an improvement.

I was talking about UNC winning a National title. NC is beautiful place.
