With Krag having a bad year (5-6) with solid talent and a great stadium, how much of his past success was due to Todd Graham? After all, Graham was with Krag when they won the '06 title and then Graham got Rice to a bowl in one year and now has set Tulsa up to win the West. It seems that Graham would be a bigger "splash" hire than Kragthorpe, who can be had on the cheap once he gets fired from L'Ville.

Kragthorpe has ZERO defense, but has awesome offense. 4th in passing offense and 9th in total offense. Their passing efficiency defense is worse than ours (111th compared to 95th). If Krag comes here, we'll need to pony up for a real DC.

Exactly, Graham was his DC and now runs the show at Tulsa with a very good OC. Isn't hiring Graham and his staff more "sizzling" than hiring Kragthorpe? Tulsa's offense is the best in the country, but its defense is #104 and worse than Louisville.

Graham would NOT leave Tulsa for SMU.

Exactly, but Kragthorpe would leave a BCS HC job for SMU. Why? Same reason Nutt would leave Arkansas for Baylor or SMU. At least, Nutt has a longer history of recruiting Texas and playing at a high level and has a bigger name around Texas.

Please, not Mike Shula. The only reason Alabama hired him was because he was a UA QB and then they ran him out of town. It would certainly be a similar hire to Doherty but at least Doh was very successful at Notre Dame before UNC and then had a bit of a turnaround year in Florida.
