I bet we have to wait at least until Dec. 2. Navy plays Army Dec. 1.

I still believe Paul Johnson is in the mix, maybe even the primary target of the search. Johnson might get a call from Nebraska, though, since Papa Osborne may want to return to the option days.

I really hope it's tomorrow...I need something to cap off this 4-day weekend, and nothing would do it better than putting all this speculation to rest.

I can't wait to see how many relatively new posters with so much "inside" information disappear soon after, never to post again.

But I thought you KNEW that there was no interest in this job...if that's the case, then how would there be an announcement this week?

Maybe I missed it, but all I've seen is that article where Johnson was chuckling about all the internet rumors about him going to Nebraska or SMU. Until he publicly disavows any interest in SMU, I wouldn't cross him off any lists.

I also think Terry Bowden is still on Orsini's short list. Doesn't look like the Memphis coach is going to lose his job now. Ole Miss might offer Bowden, but if they don't, he's got to be someone SMU is considering.

Otherwise, it will probably be someone no one here has thought of. Hard to believe, I know.

We're not going to know tomorrow or Tuesday. My hunch is it's going to be at least another week. One thing: if he doesn't announce in the next couple days, many of you guys can rejoice and scratch Tim Murphy off the list (eligible for playoffs, but they don't participate).
