Accounted for 489 yards of total offense by himself this afternoon. But quick, let's move him to safety where he could of really helped us this afternoon.

In all seriousness, this year's been a roller coaster in terms of play, but this afternoon was certainly a good one for him.

He did have a good game, but damn, even on his touchdown run, he was still carrying the ball like a loaf of bread.

He was doing a much better job of dishing the ball to some of the other players on the team up until the last possession. Than it was Willis time, but unfortunately he should have continued dishing the ball especially on the last play. If you are going to go for it on 4th and 2, you have to at least use a roll out pass. There was no pass option on his rollout, which made no sense to me!

He threw for 2,944 yards, 25 TDs and 18 ints
He rushed for 700 yards to lead us

I thought it was the best game he played all year and the best poise he held on how he ran the team. That's the JW I want to see for the next two years.

And when he starts working with a QB coach who can teach him to be even better, he could really take off!

JW has a heavy load to carry and he proved he is up to the task today. With uncertainty in our future leadership, I look to him to keep this thing together and be the cornerstone of our turn around.

GREAT game today JW

I'm not advocating moving Willis, but it would be nice if the new coach would use him in some sets as a slot or wide out. I think Rhodes is capable of throwing 5-7 times a game or running a la Tebow last year.

Getting Willis out in space could be special, or terrifying, depending on if he learns how to tuck the ball or not.

This Willis quote from the DMN notes:

"We need to put our food down and say, 'Let's go,' " he said. "I haven't done a good job with showing some emotions this year. But I've learned a lot. We've all learned a valuable lesson."

First, it was a very mature thing for him to say. Maybe something finally registered.

Second, whatever he does in the offseason, his leadership is going to be important especially in whoever is the new head coach.

Work, study and lead.

I hope Rhodes never sets foot on the field again-What are you talking about-Willis almost single handedly won that game accounting for over 500 yards Total Offense(taking out sacks)

I'm not disputing that. I'm for finding more and creative ways to exploit his athletic ability, running in space is different than running for your life.

You obviously don't know much about the game.

I thought this was JW best game that he had ever played was glad to see him involve the Players. I guess I looked at this game different from others, I enjoyed the game and could see the the players busting their butts to win. Mapps was amazing and the others. Wow; up against Singleton #89-6ft-10.
Sometimes it is best to have a sence of humor and forget what was in the past. Just enjoy what you can. Too bad the ball got away from JW at the end. I called my Daughter in the 3rd quarter and predicted that we would go in over in OT. We have talent and next season should be different. The players really wanted to win.

I would like to see Rhodes (or someone) get some playing time, as the opportunity might present itself, just so if and when Willis is knocked out we have someone who has taken a snap before. Of course in order for that to happen we need to get comfortably ahead, and that opportunity has not yet presented itself. I had favored playing Rhodes against Memphis just for experience since the game was not to determine anything, but in hindsight, for the sake of the seniors, I am pleased they used Willis and very much enjoyed his performance.

When the spring starts Rhodes and Turner can run live against our 1st team or scout team D. That is as much live action as a back-up QB usually gets. JWill ran the scout team his redshit season. Gained valuable experience, because he took it serious.

Come on Bigdaddy. Do you equate batting practice with game experience? Yesterday would have been a perfect time to get a backup some game experience, other than the fact, as I stated, it was good to try for the win at all costs on behalf of the seniors. There is no way that practice can be compared to real game.
