OK, this little coaching hunt is about to drive me nucking futs.
Would it too much of a reach to add Ty Willingham to the list of names? He hasn't done so hot at Washington, but he had some success at Notre Dame and also Stanford. Washington may want to unload him without the buyout ($3mm), as they may have their eyes on Jim Mora, Jr (according to coaches hotseat).
Anyway, he does have a game next week so that would add him to the not yet available list. Thoughts?

i'd take Ty in a heartbeat. great coach, familiar with academic restrictions (stanford, ND), proven name.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. I still think it's a good idea. I think we may have more of a shot now given how UW ended its season, and again Mora Jr really wants that job.

When someone tells you they aren't being racist...they almost certainly are. If SMU won't hire a black coach but Miss. St. will, something is wrong.

Ty has been mentioned. He fits the mold of the "original" rumor other than Texas schooling. He also finishes the year this upcoming weekend which falls in line with my prediction of a December 3 announcement. I just do not invision us getting him however, as good as it might be.

Take this bs somewhere else.
SMU would be very accepting of a black coach.

We've had two African American head basketball coaches: John Shumate and Jimmy Tubbs. So how would football be different?
I would love to have Ty Willingham as our coach. I don't care if he is pink, blue, green, black etc.

Thank you. SMU is alot of things, but racist it ain't. This school is so hungry for a winner, if they thought a green Martian could win football games, they'd hire him. Skin color matters not.

TRUST ME, im not being racist...IM BLACK YOU MORON...so dont jump to conclusions since i already said im not being racist...
As for Miss St, the wanted Croom canned after every year he was there but the AD stood by his decision and his answered all his critics with a great year this year...
I just dont think it will happen, thats MY OPINION, nothing racist about it. Basketball and Football are different sports and there are WAY MORE black coaches in BBALL than FBall.

I would take Croom also. Did you see him break down after his team snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Ole Miss this weekend? He is a good coach.
