the Duke firing is a joke on all the local sports talk stations here in NC...the way it was handled and who they will look to. They actually talked about SMU and how we did it right.

Last time there was an opening for head coach, interviewees were asking "How many admissions slots do I get each year?" and the Duke folks were saying, "Uh...don't worry, we'll just worry about that when you show up. But we'd really love to have you at Duke." Wouldn't even commit to a number.

I would believe that to be true. Only K gets his choice of special admits, and lucky for him he needs them seldom. One thing Duke *does* have, though, is a plan to get marginal admits safely all the way through school. Well, that plus BCS money.
