Seemed nobody wanted to take me serious since I had never posted. Well, I wasnt trying to waste your time or my own. I dont have enough time to get on here for the hell of it. I was trying to be helpful. Just fyi, I was told it could be done headed into this weekend. They are going to allow Nutt to announce he is taking the Ole Miss job and then we will follow with the Franchione announcement.

good ahead of the curve prediction/news/info. thanks for sharing. don't be discouraged from posting. half the people on hear are full of crap. the other half don't have anything to input at all. it's all just chatter until something happens, then everyone who guessed right will come out of the woodwork with the "i told you so"s

He's not my first choice but I don't see why it would be the end of the world. After all, we've tried the Old NFL Coach route...the Promoting from within the Coaching Staff route...We've tried the Division I-AA route and we've tried the unproven Coaching Assistant from major program route...so why not try the proven D-I head coaching route? It might actually work.

As I have said before, I think Fran is a terrible choice for many reasons. If this is Orsini's "best coach available" then I think we are in big trouble.

I have never liked Fran as a person just from his appearance, no other reason. But he would be an outstanding hire in my opinion. He would be someone that I think could not only move us up a grade or two in recruiting, but also have a staff in place that would allow us to hopefully progress next year instead of going through the typical 5 years of rebuilding. He did it at TCU and he was a success at Alabama, and by golly if he takes us to 10-3 and then wants to walk out on us, I would thank him for the work he did and look forward to the next hire. Bring him on if he is to be the one.

Agreed, much more fun to read than write. But there are some who will give you a good debate. Others though....

He's got a scumbag reputation, but he's an experienced, proven DI-A coach. I'll take it.

Like I said....posting is not my style. Not trying to get any pats on the back. Simply stating that this is what I was told would happen.

I'll take it, provided his contract has a 5M buyout or something ridiculous like that.
Also, as to the author of this thread, I'm a fan of Whitesnake from way back.
I guess, TWSS.

LOOK I've lived through 20 years of awful Head Coaches-not one did I think was qualified-Not one had the qualifications of Fanchione. How the hell could Fanchione do ANY worse than the collection of losers run through and suppoted by most on these boards. Incredible.

Not TCU. The frogs I've spoken to think it would be hilarious if we got stuck with Fran.

Do not think this is the best guy for us at this time. Please no.
Also, don't you think some of his actions will hurt recruiting or be used against us ? He could recruit some people anyway b/c he was at A & M with its money, facilities, hour or so from Houston, etc.
Don't think he can recruit as well to SMU without the infrastructure that A & M, Alabama, etc. had.
